Publication Workflow
DScholar Press International adheres to a structured, transparent, and rigorous editorial publication workflow. Operating as an advanced hybrid academic publishing house, our multi-stage publishing pipeline ensures comprehensive peer review, ethical integrity, professional typesetting, and seamless digital and physical dissemination for monographs, edited volumes, book chapters, and scholarly publications. This policy outlines the sequential phases of our publishing workflow from initial manuscript submission to final release.
1. Stage 1: Manuscript Submission
All manuscript submissions must be processed electronically through our official online editorial management portal. Direct email submissions are not entertained to ensure systematic tracking and metadata accuracy:
- Submission Protocol: Authors must register an author profile on our editorial portal and submit complete manuscripts along with necessary abstracting metadata, contributor details, and affiliation information.
- Preliminary Editorial Screening: Upon portal submission, the Managing Editor conducts an initial desk review to evaluate scope alignment, formatting compliance, language proficiency, and initial similarity index (plagiarism check).
- Desk Rejection: Manuscripts failing to meet basic academic writing standards, ethical guidelines, or press scope may be returned or declined at this initial stage prior to peer review.
2. Stage 2: Peer Review Process
DScholar Press International maintains strict double-blind or single-blind peer review protocols managed directly through the secure review tab of our online management platform:
- Reviewer Assignment: Qualified subject-matter experts and editorial board members are invited via the platform to evaluate scholarly merit, methodological rigor, originality, and clarity.
- Review Duration & Feedback: The evaluation phase typically requires 3 to 6 weeks. Reviewers submit detailed evaluation reports and recommendation scores directly within the editorial portal.
- Author Revisions: Authors receive anonymized reviewer feedback through the portal interface and must upload revised drafts alongside a itemized point-by-point response file within the stipulated revision timeline.
3. Stage 3: Formal Acceptance
Once the peer-review process yields a favorable recommendation and all required revision cycles are satisfactorily verified by the handling editor:
- Editorial Decision Notice: An official Notice of Acceptance is issued electronically to the corresponding author via the portal email notification system.
- Transition to Production Queue: Upon formal acceptance, the manuscript status is updated in the portal, moving the project from the review phase into the publication agreement and production queue.
4. Stage 4: Execution of Publishing Agreement
Prior to initiating technical typesetting and production, formal copyright and publishing agreements must be completed:
Legal Authorization & Rights Transfer:
- Publishing Contract: The corresponding author receives the standard Press Publishing Agreement/Copyright Assignment form, defining Open Access licensing (e.g., Creative Commons), distribution rights, and author permissions.
- Submission of Signed Agreement: The duly signed and completed contract must be uploaded directly to the platform management system within 7 business days of acceptance to proceed to invoicing.
5. Stage 5: Payment of Manuscript Processing Fee (MPF)
- Invoice Generation: An official invoice specifying the Manuscript Processing Fee (MPF) is dispatched to the author.
- Fee Settlement: Payment must be completed via our designated secure payment channels within the timeline noted on the invoice.
- Proof of Payment: Authors must provide the payment receipt or transaction reference number to the Publisher to trigger final production.
6. Stage 6: Production, Typesetting & Final Publication
Following contract signing and fee clearance, the manuscript enters the technical publishing stage within our portal's production module:
- Copyediting & Typesetting: Professional production editors format the work according to press typography, layout standards, cover design specifications, and XML structured data schema.
- Galley Proof Sign-Off: Uncorrected PDF galley proofs are uploaded to the author portal. Authors must review the galley proofs and submit final corrections or sign-off within 48 to 72 hours.
- Digital Publication & DOI Assignment: Upon proof approval, the work is assigned a Crossref Digital Object Identifier (DOI), cataloged with metadata, and published live on our online press platform for global Open Access retrieval.
- Print Distribution: For titles opted into physical print, print-on-demand files are generated, dispatched to printing partners, and fulfilled in accordance with our Shipping and Delivery Policy.
