From Manuscript Submission to Publication
A structured, transparent, and quality-focused publishing journey designed to support authors throughout every stage of publication.
From Submission to Publication
Explore the eleven key stages of the DScholar Press International publishing workflow.
Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the DScholar Press International submission system. During submission, authors select the appropriate publication category, such as Books, Conference Proceedings, Working Papers, or Reports, and identify the relevant publication series, where applicable.
Initial Editorial Review
The submitted manuscript undergoes an initial assessment by the Press Editor. This review considers the manuscript's suitability for the selected publication category, alignment with the Press's scope, completeness, presentation, and general editorial requirements.
Internal or External Expert Review
Manuscripts are evaluated by appropriate internal or external subject experts, depending on the publication category and applicable review requirements. Expert assessment may consider the manuscript's academic or professional relevance, quality, originality, clarity, and contribution to its field.
Acceptance & Author Notification
Following the editorial and expert review process, a publication decision is communicated to the author. Authors whose manuscripts are accepted receive formal notification and instructions regarding the next steps in publication.
Selection of Publishing Format
After acceptance, authors select their preferred publishing format or package from the options available for the relevant publication category.
Available formats and services may vary for proceedings, working papers, reports, and individual publication series.
Publishing Agreement & Payment
The publishing agreement is completed between the author and DScholar Press International. Applicable Manuscript Processing Fees (MPF) or publishing charges are communicated and processed according to the selected publishing package and agreed terms.
Copyediting
The accepted manuscript is forwarded for copyediting. The copyediting stage focuses on improving language, grammar, punctuation, consistency, readability, and adherence to the Press's editorial and formatting standards while preserving the author's intended meaning.
Author Proofreading
The copyedited manuscript is returned to the author for proofreading and verification. Authors review the edited content, identify any necessary corrections, and confirm that the manuscript is accurate and ready for the next stage of publication.
Production of Approved Manuscript
Once the author approves the copyedited manuscript, the final content is transferred to the production team. Production activities may include typesetting, page layout, cover preparation, digital file conversion, print-ready formatting, and audiobook production, depending on the selected publishing format.
Assignment of ISBN, DOI & Identifiers
The publication is assigned and prepared with the relevant bibliographic and digital identifiers, including ISBN, e-ISBN, DOI, and other applicable identifiers. Separate identifiers may be assigned to different publication formats where required.
Publication & Author Notification
The completed publication is officially released by DScholar Press International in the approved format or formats. The author is notified of successful publication and provided with the relevant publication details and access information. Complimentary printed copies, where applicable under the selected publishing package, are dispatched to the author's registered postal address.
Authors entitled to complimentary printed copies under their selected publishing package receive these copies at their registered postal address. The number of copies and applicable delivery arrangements are determined by the publishing agreement.
Important Publication Information
The publication workflow may vary depending on the manuscript category, series requirements, review model, and selected publishing format.
Manuscript Processing Fees (MPF), where applicable, are processed only after acceptance for publication. Editorial assessments and publication decisions are made independently and are not influenced by payment.
Complimentary printed copies are provided only where included in the selected publishing package or publishing agreement. Authors should ensure that their registered postal address is complete and accurate to facilitate delivery.
