Synopsis

This chapter narrates a traditional Tripuri folktale about a pair of swans who witness Ravana carrying Sita away during her abduction. When Rama and Lakshmana search for Sita, the swans initially hesitate to reveal what they have witnessed because they fear Ravana. Their reluctance disappoints Rama, who reminds them of the importance of speaking truthfully. The narrative explains the swans' characteristic behavior through a mythological encounter and conveys the moral significance of honesty, courage, and responsibility even in situations of fear.
