Synopsis

This chapter narrates the traditional explanation for the trembling leaves of the Pituli Pata plant, locally associated with Larik. During his search for Sita, Lord Rama questions the plant about Ravana's movements. Although it witnessed the abduction, the plant conceals the truth out of fear. Rama consequently declares that its leaves will tremble forever. Through this imaginative account of a natural phenomenon, the folktale communicates the importance of honesty, moral courage, and the consequences of concealing the truth.
