Waiver and Discount Policy
DScholar Press International is committed to supporting equitable access to scholarly publishing. In line with international publishing practices followed by leading academic publishers such as Elsevier, waivers and discounts on Manuscript Publication Charges (MPC) may be provided in specific cases to ensure inclusivity and support for authors with limited funding.
Full or partial waivers may be considered for manuscripts originating from low-income and lower-middle-income countries, as classified by recognized global economic indicators. Additional discounts may be offered to authors without institutional funding, early-career researchers, and students based on editorial discretion and available waiver allocations.
Waiver requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission and will be evaluated independently from the editorial review process. Approval of waivers does not influence the peer review or acceptance decision. The extent of any waiver or discount is determined solely by the publisher and is subject to annual budgetary limits and policy review.
Waiver and Discount Structure:
| Category | Eligibility Criteria | Waiver / Discount Level |
|---|---|---|
| Low-Income Countries | Authors from countries classified as low-income (World Bank classification) | Up to 50% waiver |
| Lower-Middle-Income Countries | Authors from lower-middle-income economies | Up to 20–30% discount |
| No Institutional Funding | Authors without research grants or institutional funding | Up to 20–40% discount |
| Students / Early-Career Researchers | PhD scholars, postdoctoral fellows, early-career academics | Up to 20–30% discount |
| Special Editorial Cases | High-impact manuscripts or invited works | Case-by-case waiver/discount |
This policy ensures fairness, global research participation, and support for authors facing financial constraints while maintaining the sustainability of the publication process.
