Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers play a central role in maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of the scholarly publishing process at DScholar Press International. Reviewers are responsible for evaluating manuscripts assigned to them with fairness, objectivity, and confidentiality. Their assessment contributes directly to editorial decision-making for peer-reviewed publications across books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, working papers, and research reports.
Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, accuracy of data, relevance to the field, and compliance with publication ethics. Reviews must be constructive and should provide clear, evidence-based comments that help authors improve the quality of their work. Personal criticism of authors is not acceptable.
Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all manuscripts and related materials received for review. Manuscripts and supporting documents must not be shared, discussed, or used for personal or professional advantage. Unpublished content must not be retained or distributed after completion of the review process unless authorized by the Press.
Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may affect their ability to provide an unbiased review. If a conflict exists, reviewers must decline the invitation to review the manuscript. Conflicts may include personal, professional, financial, or institutional relationships with the authors or the research presented.
Reviewers must complete their evaluations within the agreed timeframe. If unable to complete the review, reviewers are expected to inform the editorial office promptly so that alternative arrangements can be made. Timely feedback supports an efficient editorial process and ensures that authors receive decisions without unnecessary delay.
Reviewers must not use information obtained through the peer review process for personal research, publication, teaching, or any other purpose. Ideas, data, or interpretations contained in submitted manuscripts must remain confidential until publication and must not be used or disclosed in any form.
Reviewers are expected to identify and report any ethical concerns observed in the manuscript, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, or unethical research practices. Such concerns must be communicated confidentially to the editor.
DScholar Press International expects reviewers to conduct their duties with professionalism, integrity, and respect for scholarly communication. The peer review process depends on the quality, honesty, and responsibility of reviewers, and their contributions are essential to maintaining the standards of the Press.
