Research Data Repository Policy
DScholar Press International supports the preservation, accessibility, and responsible management of research data through the use of recognized research data repositories. This policy applies to all publications, including peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, working papers, and research reports.
Authors are encouraged to deposit research datasets, software, computer code, protocols, questionnaires, images, multimedia files, and other supporting research materials in trusted disciplinary, institutional, national, or general-purpose research data repositories that provide long-term preservation, public accessibility where appropriate, and persistent identifiers such as Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) or accession numbers.
Authors are responsible for selecting repositories that ensure the security, integrity, discoverability, and long-term preservation of deposited materials. The repository should support appropriate metadata standards, provide stable access to deposited files, and maintain clear policies for data preservation and access.
Where research data are deposited in a repository, authors must include a Data Availability Statement in the manuscript identifying the repository, dataset title, persistent identifier, accession number, or other relevant information that enables readers to locate and access the deposited materials. Any restrictions on access must be clearly explained.
The Press recognizes that some research data cannot be deposited in public repositories because of legal, ethical, privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, contractual, cultural, or national security restrictions. In such cases, authors must explain the reasons for restricted access and, where possible, indicate the conditions under which qualified researchers may obtain access to the data.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that deposited datasets are accurate, complete, properly documented, and consistent with the results presented in the manuscript. Personal information and confidential data must be anonymized or otherwise protected before deposition in accordance with applicable laws, ethical requirements, and institutional policies.
The editorial office may request access to deposited data or supporting documentation during editorial assessment, peer review, or investigations of publication ethics concerns. Authors are expected to cooperate with such requests where legally and ethically permissible.
DScholar Press International does not require authors to use a specific repository. Authors are encouraged to select repositories that are widely recognized within their discipline or maintained by reputable research institutions, universities, government agencies, or established data repository services.
Failure to provide repository information where data deposition has been claimed, or failure to provide supporting research data upon reasonable editorial request without adequate justification, may result in delay, rejection, or other editorial action in accordance with the Press's Publication Ethics and Research Integrity Policies.
DScholar Press International maintains this policy to promote transparency, reproducibility, long-term preservation, and responsible stewardship of research data while respecting ethical, legal, and confidentiality obligations associated with scholarly research.
