Redundant Publication Policy

DScholar Press International does not permit redundant publication. This policy applies to all publications, including peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, working papers, and research reports. Authors are required to submit original work that has not been published previously in substantially the same form unless prior publication is fully disclosed and approved by the editorial office.

Redundant publication occurs when the same or substantially similar research, data, analyses, interpretations, or conclusions are published in more than one publication without appropriate disclosure, justification, or cross-referencing. It includes republication of the same manuscript, partial duplication of previously published work, segmented publication of a single study without scientific justification, and submission of manuscripts containing extensive overlap with the authors' own published work without proper citation or disclosure.

Authors must disclose any prior publication, related manuscripts, conference papers, preprints, theses, dissertations, reports, or other publicly available versions of the work at the time of submission. Copies of related publications may be requested by the editorial office to determine whether the submitted manuscript represents a distinct and original scholarly contribution.

Where previously published material is included in a manuscript, authors must properly cite the original source, obtain any required permissions, and clearly identify the relationship between the current submission and earlier publications. Failure to disclose related publications may be treated as publication misconduct.

The editorial office may use similarity detection software and editorial assessment to identify substantial overlap with previously published material. Editorial decisions are based on the extent, nature, context, and significance of the overlapping content rather than similarity scores alone.

Where redundant publication is suspected, the editorial process may be suspended while the matter is investigated. Authors may be required to provide explanations or supporting documentation. If redundant publication is confirmed before publication, the manuscript will be rejected. If it is identified after publication, the Press may issue a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action.

Publication of revised or expanded versions of conference papers, working papers, theses, dissertations, or preprints may be considered for publication when permitted by the Press, provided that the previous version is fully disclosed, appropriately cited, and the submitted manuscript contains substantial additional scholarly content. The editorial office determines whether the revised work constitutes a new and independent publication.

Failure to comply with this policy may result in rejection of the manuscript, withdrawal of an accepted manuscript, retraction of a published work, notification of the authors' institutions or funding organizations where appropriate, and restriction of future submissions to the Press.

DScholar Press International maintains this policy to protect the integrity of the scholarly record, ensure the originality of published content, and promote responsible and transparent scholarly publishing in accordance with international publication ethics standards.
