Peer-Review Policy
DScholar Press International publishes both peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed scholarly publications. This policy defines the standards and procedures for publications that undergo external peer review. The peer review process is used to assess the scholarly quality, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and relevance of submitted manuscripts before publication. It supports editorial decision-making and provides authors with constructive feedback to improve their work.
Manuscripts designated for peer review may include books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, journal articles, working papers, research reports, and other publication types as determined by the Press. The designation of a publication as peer-reviewed is made prior to the evaluation process and is clearly communicated to authors and reflected in the publication metadata.
Peer review is conducted by independent experts with appropriate subject expertise. Reviewers are selected based on academic qualifications, research experience, and absence of conflicts of interest. Depending on the publication type and disciplinary requirements, the Press may adopt single-blind, double-blind, or open peer review models. The applicable review model is specified in the author guidelines or publication information.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, contribution to the field, research methodology, clarity, accuracy of references, ethical compliance, and overall suitability for publication. Reviewer comments and recommendations are advisory in nature, and final editorial decisions are made by the editor or editorial board.
Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer feedback. Revised submissions may undergo additional rounds of peer review when necessary before a final decision is made. Acceptance of a manuscript is based on successful completion of the peer review process and compliance with editorial and ethical standards.
Reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality, disclose conflicts of interest, evaluate manuscripts objectively, and avoid using unpublished information for personal or professional gain. Editors are responsible for ensuring fairness, impartiality, confidentiality, and proper management of conflicts of interest throughout the peer review process.
The peer review process operates independently of commercial considerations, publication charges, institutional influence, or external pressure. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, research integrity, ethical compliance, and relevance to the aims and scope of the publication.
DScholar Press International periodically reviews this policy to ensure alignment with international publishing standards and ethical best practices. The Press is committed to maintaining a transparent, fair, and rigorous peer review process that supports the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing.
