Metadata Policy
DScholar Press International maintains a structured Metadata Policy to ensure consistency, discoverability, interoperability, and long-term accessibility of all published scholarly works. Metadata is created and managed in accordance with the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set (Version 1.1), supporting integration with indexing services, library systems, and academic discovery platforms.
Each publication is assigned standardized metadata at the time of publication. This metadata includes core bibliographic elements such as title, author(s), affiliation (where applicable), abstract, keywords, publication date, language, publisher information, and persistent identifiers such as DOI and/or ISBN where applicable. Additional elements such as references, funding information, and licensing details may also be included to enhance scholarly transparency.
The use of Dublin Core 1.1 ensures interoperability with major indexing databases, digital libraries, and harvesting protocols such as OAI-PMH. This allows published content to be efficiently discovered, indexed, and cited across global academic platforms.
Metadata records are reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to publication. Any post-publication updates or corrections to metadata are managed through controlled editorial procedures to maintain version integrity and transparency.
DScholar Press International ensures that metadata is preserved alongside published content for long-term accessibility and archiving. Metadata records remain stable even if content is updated, corrected, or migrated to new systems.
This policy aligns with international scholarly publishing standards and supports best practices in digital publishing, discoverability, and academic indexing.
