Licensing Policy

DScholar Press International publishes selected works under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license to promote the widest possible dissemination, accessibility, and reuse of scholarly knowledge. The applicable license for each publication is clearly indicated on the publication webpage and within the published work. This policy applies to peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, working papers, and research reports published under the CC BY 4.0 license.

Under the CC BY 4.0 licence, authors retain copyright in their work while granting the public permission to copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, adapt, translate, transform, and build upon the work for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and DScholar Press International as the original publisher. Users must provide a citation to the original publication, include a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence, and clearly indicate whether any changes have been made to the original work.

The CC BY 4.0 licence does not transfer copyright ownership to the Press or to users of the work. Copyright remains with the author unless otherwise specified in the publishing agreement. Authors grant DScholar Press International a non-exclusive licence to publish, distribute, archive, preserve, and identify itself as the original publisher of the work.

Users of CC BY 4.0 licensed publications must not imply that the original authors or DScholar Press International endorse any adaptation, translation, derivative work, product, or service unless explicit written permission has been obtained. Any modifications, adaptations, or translations must be clearly identified to distinguish them from the original published version.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all third-party materials included in their manuscripts are licensed or used with appropriate permission for publication under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Where third-party material cannot be distributed under CC BY 4.0, the material must be clearly identified, accompanied by an appropriate copyright notice, and excluded from the licence where necessary.

The CC BY 4.0 licence does not affect rights arising under copyright exceptions, fair dealing, fair use, privacy rights, publicity rights, moral rights, patent rights, trademark rights, or other legal protections. Users remain responsible for complying with all applicable laws when reusing published content.

Where a publication is not released under the CC BY 4.0 licence, the applicable copyright and licensing terms will be specified in the publishing agreement and on the publication itself.

DScholar Press International adopts the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence to encourage the lawful sharing, reuse, adaptation, and dissemination of scholarly works while ensuring that authors receive appropriate attribution and recognition for their contributions to academic knowledge.
