ISBN Policy

DScholar Press International assigns International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) to eligible book-length publications to ensure unique identification, cataloguing, and global discoverability in academic and library systems. ISBN assignment is carried out in accordance with internationally recognised publishing standards.

All ISBNs used by DScholar Press International are allocated through the Raja Rammohun Roy National Agency for ISBN, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Each ISBN is assigned to a specific title and format to ensure accurate bibliographic identification and traceability across print and digital versions.

ISBNs are assigned to eligible publications such as peer-reviewed books, non-peer-reviewed books, edited volumes, conference proceedings, working papers, research reports, and other monograph-level works published by the Press. Each ISBN is permanently associated with the publication and is used for cataloguing in libraries, indexing systems, and bibliographic databases.

Once assigned, an ISBN cannot be reused or reassigned to another title. Any revised or new edition of a publication may be assigned a new ISBN in accordance with international ISBN standards. Metadata associated with each ISBN is maintained to ensure consistency, discoverability, and long-term bibliographic integrity.

This policy ensures compliance with global publishing standards and supports the integration of published works into national and international library and indexing systems.
