Editorial Independence Policy

DScholar Press International is committed to maintaining editorial independence in all publishing activities. Editorial decisions are made independently and are based on scholarly merit, originality, research integrity, ethical compliance, and relevance to the aims and scope of the publication. This policy applies to all publications issued by the Press, including peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, journals, working papers, research reports, and print and electronic publications.

The editorial process is conducted without interference from the publisher, authors, sponsors, advertisers, funding organizations, institutions, or any other individual or organization. Editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial interests, financial considerations, personal relationships, political opinions, religious beliefs, institutional affiliations, nationality, gender, ethnicity, age, disability, or any other non-scholarly factor. The acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is determined solely through the editorial evaluation process applicable to the publication.

Editors have full authority to manage submissions, select reviewers where peer review is required, request revisions, make editorial recommendations, and decide whether a manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected. Editors are expected to exercise independent academic judgment, maintain confidentiality, apply editorial policies consistently, and ensure that every submission receives fair and impartial consideration. The publisher supports editorial decisions and does not override or alter those decisions except where required to address legal issues, publication misconduct, or breaches of publication ethics.

Authors are entitled to fair, objective, and timely editorial assessment. Manuscripts are evaluated without discrimination based on nationality, citizenship, institutional affiliation, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political beliefs, age, disability, or professional status. Editorial decisions are based on the quality, originality, significance, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and relevance of the submitted work.

Editors, reviewers, editorial board members, and publishing staff must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could affect their independence or objectivity. Individuals with a conflict of interest shall not participate in the editorial assessment or decision-making process for the affected submission. Where necessary, responsibility for the manuscript will be assigned to another editor to ensure an impartial evaluation.

The Press recognizes that peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed publications follow different editorial evaluation processes. Peer-reviewed publications are evaluated through independent peer review, while non-peer-reviewed publications undergo editorial assessment by qualified editors. Regardless of the evaluation process, editorial independence is maintained throughout, and all editorial decisions are made in accordance with the same standards of publication ethics, research integrity, fairness, and transparency.

DScholar Press International maintains a clear separation between editorial decision-making and commercial or administrative functions. Marketing activities, publication charges, sponsorship, partnerships, advertising, and other business considerations do not influence editorial decisions. The existence or absence of publication fees does not affect the editorial assessment of any submission.

The Press periodically reviews its editorial policies to ensure consistency with international publishing standards and publication ethics. By safeguarding editorial independence, DScholar Press International seeks to maintain the integrity, credibility, transparency, and trustworthiness of its publications and to ensure that all editorial decisions are made solely in the interests of scholarship and the scholarly community.
