Copyright Policy
DScholar Press International respects the intellectual property rights of authors and is committed to protecting copyrighted works while promoting the responsible dissemination of scholarly knowledge. This policy applies to all publications, including peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, working papers, and research reports.
Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly works unless otherwise agreed through a written publishing agreement. Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors are required to enter into a publishing agreement that specifies the rights granted to DScholar Press International to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, index, and make the work available in print, electronic, open-access, or hybrid formats, as applicable to the publication.
Authors warrant that the submitted manuscript is an original work, that they hold the necessary copyright or legal authority to grant publication rights, and that the manuscript does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reproduce or adapt any copyrighted material, including text, figures, tables, images, illustrations, photographs, maps, questionnaires, software, or other protected content where permission is required. Evidence of permission must be provided to the editorial office upon request.
All third-party material included in a manuscript must be appropriately acknowledged and cited. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the use of copyrighted material complies with applicable copyright laws, licensing terms, and contractual obligations. Failure to obtain required permissions may result in delay, rejection, or withdrawal of the manuscript.
The copyright status and applicable licence for each publication are stated in the publishing agreement and on the published work where applicable. For open-access publications, the applicable Creative Commons or other licence will be clearly identified. For non-open-access publications, all rights not expressly granted remain reserved in accordance with the publishing agreement.
Authors may use their own published work for teaching, research, institutional repositories, personal websites, academic presentations, or other scholarly purposes in accordance with the terms of the publishing agreement and the applicable licensing conditions. Any reuse of published content by third parties must comply with the copyright and licensing terms applicable to the publication.
The Press respects the intellectual property rights of others and responds appropriately to allegations of copyright infringement. Where a claim of copyright infringement is received, the editorial office will investigate the matter and may request supporting documentation from the parties involved. If infringement is confirmed, the Press may reject the manuscript, remove infringing material, publish a correction, issue a retraction, withdraw the publication, or take other appropriate editorial or legal action.
DScholar Press International maintains this policy to protect the rights of authors, contributors, publishers, and copyright holders while supporting the lawful dissemination, preservation, and use of scholarly publications in accordance with international copyright standards and ethical publishing practices.
