Changes in Authorship Policy
DScholar Press International permits changes in authorship only under controlled and documented circumstances to ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in scholarly publishing. This policy applies to all publications, including peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed books, scholarly monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, working papers, and research reports.
Authorship is expected to be agreed upon by all contributors prior to submission. The authorship list submitted at the time of submission is considered the official record for the manuscript and forms the basis for all editorial and publication decisions. Any request to change authorship after submission must be formally communicated to the editorial office.
Changes in authorship include addition, removal, or reordering of authors. Such changes are permitted only when accompanied by a clear justification and written confirmation from all existing authors and any authors being added or removed. The corresponding author is responsible for initiating and coordinating the request for authorship changes and ensuring that all co-authors provide explicit consent.
The editorial office evaluates all authorship change requests to ensure that the proposed modification reflects genuine contribution and complies with authorship criteria established by the Press. Requests lacking full agreement from all authors are not processed. Disputes regarding authorship are handled according to the Press’s publication ethics procedures and may require institutional involvement where necessary.
Authorship changes after acceptance of a manuscript are subject to stricter review. Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication or has entered production, changes in authorship are generally not permitted except in exceptional circumstances and with documented approval from all authors and the editorial office.
All authors must meet established authorship criteria, including substantial intellectual contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. Individuals who do not meet these criteria must be acknowledged in the acknowledgements section and not listed as authors.
Any attempt to manipulate authorship, including gift authorship, ghost authorship, or removal of rightful contributors without consent, is treated as publication misconduct. Such cases may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or other editorial action in accordance with the Press’s publication ethics policies.
DScholar Press International maintains these requirements to ensure that authorship accurately reflects intellectual contribution and that all changes in authorship are handled with fairness, transparency, and integrity throughout the publication process.
