Role Overview

DScholar Press International is seeking a proactive and professional Publishing Consultant to oversee the day-to-day operations of our academic publishing house. This role is ideal for a dedicated publishing professional looking to leverage their expertise to grow our portfolio. As a consultant, you will serve as the primary point of contact for scholars, provide consultations on our publication services, and lead end-to-end lead generation and business development efforts under the direct guidance of the Managing Director.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A degree in Publishing, Library and Information Science, English Literature, Mass Communication, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Demonstrated understanding of the academic publishing lifecycle, including editorial workflows, production, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Business Development: Proactively identify, research, and contact prospective authors, researchers, and academic institutions to generate new business leads. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily administrative functions of the press to ensure smooth project workflows.
  • Subscription & Royalty Management: Maintain accurate records for subscription-based services and author royalties. Manage client onboarding, renewal tracking, and ensure timely and transparent royalty disbursements.
  • Client Consultation: Provide professional guidance to potential authors regarding our publication services.
  • Strategic Execution: Work under the direction of the Managing Director to ensure all publications adhere to international academic standards and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

Expected Monthly Output

To maintain the momentum of DScholar Press International, the consultant is expected to:

  • Lead Generation: Identify and initiate contact with a minimum of 20–30 qualified leads per month via email, professional networking, or academic outreach.
  • Consultation Sessions: Conduct at least 5–8 professional online consultation sessions with prospective clients regarding our publishing services.
  • Conversion Targets: Work toward securing 2–4 new publishing agreements per month.
  • Reporting: Submit a monthly summary report detailing lead pipeline status, subscription updates, royalty account summaries, and business development progress.

Requirements & Skills

  • Remote Work Capability: Proficiency in managing professional projects independently within a remote, home-office environment.
  • Analytical Aptitude: Strong attention to detail, specifically for tracking complex subscription cycles and calculating royalty payments accurately.
  • Communication & Networking: Ability to engage confidently with researchers, faculty, and institutional stakeholders to build long-term professional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain high ethical standards, and drive growth.
