The International Review of Public Policy and Administration (IRPPA) is proud to announce that Prof. Avanindra Nath Thakur has officially joined the journal as its first Journal Editor, effective June 2, 2026.
As IRPPA prepares for its landmark inaugural issue launch, Prof. Thakur’s extensive academic background and methodological expertise will play a pivotal role in guiding the journal’s editorial vision and establishing its footprint in global policy discourse.
Meet the Editor: Prof. Avanindra Nath Thakur
Prof. Avanindra Nath Thakur brings a wealth of interdisciplinary experience to IRPPA. He currently serves as a Professor of Economics at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, O.P. Jindal Global University (Sonipat, Haryana, India). Beyond his primary faculty role, he is a Senior Research Fellow at the interdisciplinary research unit IDEAS at O.P. Jindal Global University and a Senior Fellow at the Anadi Institute for Social Research and Action (AISRA).
Prof. Thakur completed his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Prior to joining O.P. Jindal Global University in 2017, he honed his pedagogy teaching at several Delhi University colleges and Ambedkar University Delhi.
- Areas of Specialization: Development Economics, Economic Policies, Applied Econometrics, Labour Economics, Agricultural Economics, and Data Science.
- Technical Expertise: He holds a comprehensive ten-course specialization in Data Science with R from Johns Hopkins University and a specialization in Statistics with R from Duke University.
- Editorial Track Record: An experienced hand in academic curation, he also serves as an editor for Socrates: A Journal of Public Policy, Public Administration and Philosophy. His research articles and book chapters are widely published across highly reputed international publishing houses.
